CHARTT Mission Statement

Community-wide emergencies, such as natural disasters, catastrophes or acts of terrorism, can happen anytime and without warning. However, in the instant the event occurs, a community of survivors emerges to begin the process of recovery and renewal. These survivors face many challenges as they deal with countless hardships, losses and stresses. We offer members of this community and those helping them effective techniques for discovering their own strengths, helping others, and building bonds that promote hope and resolve in troubled times.

CHARTT is sponsored by the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Community Services Board and the James Madison University Department of Graduate Psychology.
